ToTal bore... no more
Recently separated, Everly struggles with empty nest syndrome. After spending many months in bed, she finds out that her mom is on Tinder and decides it is time to get moving. She further challenges herself with wigs, hair colors, girly clothes, and then even Tinder when she sees many men with no teeth. She feels gravely disappointed with her life until she finds a picture of Borden with a set of beautiful chompers. Nice teeth are like a dream come true for her, especially after midlife. Borden, equally bored and lonely, decides to buy a scooter, and he too regretfully goes on Tinder until he sees a picture of Everly. Intrigued by her blue hair and her scooter, he thinks, ‘not boring.’ Everly and Borden meet for ice cream and ride together to visit the Tidal Bore, often referred to as the Total Bore, and are no longer bored or lonely anymore. Loneliness equals death sometimes, and these two manage to save themselves and each other.
Director's Statement
“I wanted to act in and direct this film, Total Bore... No More, after the realization that my recent experiences could tell a story. I figured no one better than I could tell it since it was my story. I am recently separated and am also empty nesting. This is substantially worse than simply empty nesting. Most empty nesters work on rekindling. I didn’t get that opportunity. In hindsight, this has been a blessing. At the time of separation, I was told we were selling the business; our youngest son was going to private school, and I, too, was getting an eviction notice. Since I had never been alone before, I spent many months in isolation, depressed, and devastated. I did not have any energy to focus on TFS classes, either, and had to put my life on hold as I was completely frozen. Finally, I decided to go on Tinder but only for twenty-four hours. It was scary, apparently the toothless like blue hair too. I didn't leave Tinder before securing one date with a nice gentleman who also happens to enjoy orange-pineapple ice cream, adventure, and fun. Consequently, we spend meaningful and loving times together. Writing, acting, and directing my first film has been the best way to make something good out of a bad experience, which is what I plan to do with most of my writing. Shining light on my darkness is rigorously the best medicine.”
Shane Scott -Filmmaker
Entrepreneur, Filmmaker, Actor, Writer, and Journalist. Shane has starred in Atlantic Canada’s first and only Motorcycle TV Series ‘Ridin East’. Shane is also a Motorcycle Extreme Sports Athlete celebrating over forty years of racing and, most notably, the Baja 1000 and Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. He has written articles for Motorcycle magazines, and he plans to travel the globe motorcycle adventure riding. Shane aspires to create award-winning films and documentaries. Shane has participated and performed in ballroom dance competitions in the past, and he has previous experience as a dance instructor and as a wrestler. His favorite movie is ‘Tombstone,’ and his favorite book is ‘East of Eden.’ Shane actively leads an Organic Lifestyle with much enthusiasm. Just this year, Shane is adding stand-up comedy to his portfolio. Shane is being recognized and is now a 2020 inductee into the National Hall of Fame for Motorcycle Sports to top all of that off.
Christa Cusack O'Neill -Filmmaker
Mom of five, student, comedian, award-winning business owner, and now an empty nester. Christa has attended Business College and Community College and is now attending Toronto Film School, Writing for TV and Film, online. Christa has written a few short scripts and is currently working on a sitcom, one-hour drama, and a feature screenplay. Right now, Christa is most passionate about story editing; she loves… loves… loves… it. She is aware that writing is re-writing. Christa is loyal, hard-working, funny, and truthful. Christa enjoys the art of storytelling and all things funny, and most recently, she has attended stand-up comedy classes and has performed on stage. She will forever cherish holidays and traveling with her beloved family. Now that Christa is an empty nester, she spends time and enjoys face to face, or now mask to mask socializing, listening to live music, and also attending comedy shows. She is an adventure seeker but also enjoys quiet time drinking coffee while reading news articles and other publications online and, of course, reading and writing jokes.
